CCC Product Library Vol.1 | Handmade Tiles

 Using traditional Chinese pottery techniques, most of handmade tiles are made by hand. Manual operations account for a considerable amount when processing tiles, from molding to firing, pre-forming, glaze compounding, glaze spraying and glaze feeding. The production process without standard mode and low industrialization is one of the features of handmade tiles, and it is also the most fundamental difference between handmade tiles and building ceramics that are produced industrially on a large scale. Handmade tiles inherit the crafts that mainly reflect the handcraft culture and pattern designs, through which the consumers would be touched. Today, we will introduce the four categories of handmade tiles: Cracked Ice Series, Geometric Series, Heteromorphic Series and Customized Series.

 

Cracked Ice Series

Handmade tiles strive to inherit the traditional techniques, but as for the product style, they keeps abreast of the times. They are the modern interpretation of traditional techniques, among which the cracked Ice tiles show a good example.

The product style of cracked ice tiles is changeable. The three-dimensional cracks like petals and irregular fine layers on the glaze all together create a strong three-dimensional and artistic sense which likes the ice cracks suddenly. This handmade tile is not a simple, unified and low-cost industrial product, but an important means for famous designers to create personalized works.

Geometric Series


Geometric Series handmade tiles break the shackles of traditional composition and create a three-dimensional space in the planar structure. From abstract to concrete, the collision and overlap of lines and surfaces completely present flowing and changeable patterns, which affect the visual attention and imagination, and shows the aesthetic feeling of many levels.
